Wichita Falls officials announced on Friday, January 24, that the first confirmed case of rabies in a skunk for the year was reported. On Wednesday, an Animal Care officer responded to a call at Lake Wichita dog park on Fairway Blvd after a dog killed a skunk. The dead animal was collected by the Wichita Falls Animal Services and sent for testing, which then came back positive for rabies.
