95.3 K-HITS, along with the Glen Rose Medical Center and Carter Blood Care will be holding the 5th Annual Mission 95 Blood Drive, June 14th at the Somervell County Expo Center from 9am until 4pm. The Mission 95 Blood Drive started in June of 2015 as an idea between the Glen Rose Medical Center and KOME radio as a way to increase blood donnations in the area. At that time, the most ever donated at a blood drive in Somervell County was under 20 pints. The goal for Mission 95 was to get at least 95 pints of Blood donated at the drive, and in the last 4 drives that goal was exceeded 3 times, with 105 pints donated last year. In 2017 the drive fell just 7 pints short on a 100 degree plus day, but rebounded in 2018. ” We had listeners not only from Somervell County, but from Cleburne, Granbury, Bosque County and Stephenville make the drive to the Expo Center in Glen Rose to support this event” said 95.3 K-HITS GM Mike Greene. “It really is a great feeling knowing how communities in our listening area can come together to support an event like Mission 95” Greene added.

This years Blood Drive will feature, “live” entertainment, a free “all beef hot dog” lunch provided by Hammonds BBQ for individuals that donate, giveaways, and a “live” 95.3 K-HITS broadcast from 9am until 4pm. With blood supplies at a very low level in the region, this is the perfect time to donate, and help break that 95 pint goal at Mission 95 on June 14th.
