Weatherford ISD has chosen to reduce the property tax rate. Originally the rate was set to $1.34 but will be lowered to $1.32 per $100 evaluation. A statement from the district said that “The tax rate will effectively be raised by 9.56 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $116.” “However, the overall tax rate for Weatherford ISD — composed of both Interest & Sinking and Maintenance & Operations — was lowered from $1.34735 to $1.3272. Over a two-year period, the Weatherford ISD board of trustees has lowered the overall tax rate by more than $0.12.”
