– During the Aug. 21 Granbury City Council meeting the group voted
unanimously to share a large portion of the city’s nearly $579,000 Coronavirus Aid, Relief and
Economic Security (CARES) Act funds with the Granbury Independent School District and the
Texas Emergency Medical Service. Granbury Mayor Nin Hulett had the pleasure of presenting
those funds Thursday.
“The City of Granbury is pleased to partner with both Granbury ISD and Texas EMS in
this distribution of CARES Act funds,” said Granbury Mayor Nin Hulett. “Our community is a
better place to live, when we share our resources with each other.”
CARES Act funds provide financial resources to state and local governments to help
mitigate the economic impacts of COVID-19 and assist with recovery. The City has allocated
$55,000 to the Granbury Independent School District to purchase Chromebooks and portable
Wi-Fi Hotspots for distance education, and $30,000 to Texas EMS to offset the additional
expenses they incurred due to COVID-19.
