The Brazos River Authority is set to host its 8th annual Water Safety Awareness Day on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Rough Creek Park in Granbury. Running from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the event prioritizes public safety and environmental stewardship while offering a variety of family-friendly activities, including a “Kid Fish” program, a blood drive, games, and food. A central goal of the initiative is the distribution of brand-new life jackets to children to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming summer season. By combining education with outdoor recreation, the Authority aims to foster a culture of safety and conservation within the community.
