Due to the forecast for rain and possible severe weather, the Brazos River Authority has rescheduled their 4th Annual Water Safety Awareness Day for Saturday June 1st, 2019 at Rough Creek Park, 2209 South Morgan Street (Hwy 144) in Granbury from 9am until 1pm.

This event promotes water safety in an effort to make people more aware of what they can do to keep kids and families safe, and to prevent accidental drownings said Kyle Lewis, Lake Ranger with the Brazos River Authority. This is a great learning and educational opportunity event which will be filled with all kinds of vendors and businesses promoting water safety, plus  Family Fishing Day has been added to the event with the Kid Fish, as June 1st is TPWD Free Fishing Day so anyone can fish that day without purchasing a license. “There is no better way to get a family together than getting them outdoors and hooked on fishing, but most important is getting to hand out free life jackets to the kids and talk water safety with all the families” added Lewis.  So, please mark your calendars for Saturday June 1st!

95.3 K-HITS will be broadcasting “live” during the event, and Carter Blood Care will also be on site for people wanting to make a donation.
