The Hood County News reports that the Granbury City Council has given the go for the 4th of July parade and festival, provided the County agrees. The 4th of July parade and festival on the square that the chamber cancelled due to COVID-19 is back on, but on a smaller scale. The Granbury City Council unanimously approved the request of chamber president and CEO Mike Scott at its regular meeting Tuesday night. The council will reconsider its approval, though, if there is a spike in local COVID-19 cases prior to the holiday weekend. The parade will have 50-60 floats instead of the usual 120, Scott said, and only local vendors will be allowed. In response to criticism that he had cancelled the events too quickly, Scott explained that vendors had been clamoring for a decision.
