The Marine Corps JROTC unit at Granbury High School has been named a Naval Honor School for the seventh year in a row. Only ten percent of Marine Corps JROTC programs receive this recognition. The selection was based on several criteria, the percentage of cadets involved in student government organizations and in school activities and clubs, the number of community service hours, the number of organizations assisted by the unit, and scholastic achievements.  Also, the units were also measured by participation in public affairs events, drill team competitions, rifle team competitions, physical fitness team competitions, and field trips. Senior Marine Instructor Lt. Col. Scott Casey commented “We are very proud of the cadets’ hard work and dedication and would also like to thank all teachers, staff, and administrators at the high school for the outstanding support and involvement with the cadets.”
