Stephenville ISD, Granbury ISD, Glenrose ISD, and other schools in the area will be offering free lunch and breakfast for students for a limited time. The event follows a nationwide waiver by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) allowing school districts to operate under summer guidelines to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. These benefits will go through December 31, 2020, or until funding is no longer available through USDA. USDA may withdraw the waivers depending on the availability of funding. If that happens, schools will revert to charging for meals based on meal application eligibility.
