Granbury High School announced the 2019 Homecoming Court on September 6, 2019.
King nominees are Brendan Chism, Trevor Dawson, Luke Forrest, Kyler Gibson, Brock Holmgreen, Rene Robles, and Bryan Williams. Queen candidates are Kyla Asante-Wiredu, Bree Clark, Makayla Doucet, Marley Fox, Alyssa Gomez, Ashton Lee, and Dallas Mager.
Homecoming festivities will be September 30-October 4 with the theme of “Lights! Camera! Homecoming!”
The Homecoming parade will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 30. The parade will be staged at Decker Field and will proceed from Hannaford Street west down Pearl Street to the high school. A spirit rally and fireworks display will follow at Pirate Stadium beginning at about 8:00 P.M.
Acton Elementary School third grader Jax Madrigal will be the grand marshal for the parade. The nine-year-old boy suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy has led the Granbury campaign for Coach to Cure MD, a nationwide program to raise money for research of the genetic disorder.
On Friday, October 4, the Lady Pirates will host Everman for volleyball games in the James Wann Sports Center beginning at 5:30 P.M. Kickoff for the Granbury-Arlington Heights football game will be at 7:00 P.M.
During halftime festivities, the Homecoming Queen will be crowned. Also to be recognized will be the Coming Home Queen and King, representatives of the GHS Class of 1969. The Homecoming King will be announced during a pep rally earlier that day.
The GHS student council will host a Homecoming Dance for students on Saturday, October 5 from 7:00-10:00 P.M. in the high school courtyard.
