High School Students Attend Hood County Day In Austin

Several Granbury High School students joined a large community group for “Hood County Day” at the Texas state capitol on February 13, 2019.  Granbury Chamber of Commerce sponsored the legislative day program.

The biennial trip had the students joining city, county, and other local officials as well as chamber and community representatives.  Activities included photos with state senator Brian Birdwell and state representative Mike Lang as well as the delegation being recognized in both legislative chambers.

The GHS students, who are in dual credit government classes taught by Cindy Leatherman, were Makaul Barbaree, Kelby Been, Haylee Branum, Meghan Childers, Blaine Dixon, Cameron Gibson, Courtney Gilley, Tatum Gray, Ethan Hagan, Taylor Hammonds, Lani Hickey, Marleigh Jackson, Savannah Oliver, Amanda Peterson, Cole Stephens, and Trevor Stringer.

Representing Junior Leadership Granbury were Kristen Babiash, Delaney Dawson, Allissa DeBello, Ethan Hart, Brody Hesseltine, Emily Kelly, Clarina Layland, Clarissa Layland, Amerson Meyers, Syrah Mitchell, Kylie Pickett, Michael Quinn, Michelle Tutor, and Cutter Willmeth.

Also attending were Granbury ISD school board president Mark Jackson and superintendent Dr. Jeremy Glenn.
