Businesses in the K-HITS listening area opened back up today as restrictions were eased by Governor Abbott. Many counties in the state opened back up at 25% capacity, however 3 Counties in the K-HITS listening area were allowed to open back up at 50% capacity. Those were Somervell, Hood and Hamilton counties. Counties with less then 5 active cases of COVID 19 were allowed to open back up at that level.
Out of the 254 counties in the state, 46 counties have had no cases of COVID 19, Somervell County being one of those counties. Once counties reach the threshold of less then 5 active cases, they can request 50% capacity for businesses. However, Hair Salons, Gyms, Barbershops and Bars are to remain closed per the Governor.
